Megan shares her valuable tax and planning experience with a variety of clients through guidance on tax preparation, compliance and improving tax processes.
Megan is a partner in the Tax practice. She began her career in public accounting through internships with Smith + Howard and joined as a full-time tax professional in 2013.
Megan provides tax compliance and planning services to a wide variety of clients in various industries including manufacturing and distribution, professional services, private equity owned companies, and more. She is well-versed on elective pass-through entity taxes (also known as the “SALT cap workaround”) and leads the charge at Smith + Howard on monitoring state law changes and analyzing the potential tax savings related to this for our clients. She is also heavily involved in our corporate tax provision team and assist with the preparation, review and analysis of complex tax provisions. She also enjoys helping businesses with tax compliance and consulting related to mergers and acquisitions.
Within the firm, Megan leads the tax practice’s training committee which oversees new hire training and continuing education for the department. She is also a member of the tax practice’s Flowtivity team, which focuses on improving processes within the tax department.
Megan and her husband live in Suwanee with their twin boys.
